I was hired by the incredible Betty Jo to film her walking a mile to Walmart and back using a cane. She is legally blind, and as part of the process of getting a seeing eye dog, this was a requirement. I was so inspired by her determination, I asked her to tell her story!
The story evolved in hope of influencing the guide dog school’s decision. Amazingly, it worked, and Bette Jo is now the proud owner of Butterscotch. Part 2 tells the story of how the video influenced the school as we hoped! Both of these projects were done entirely by me.

Documentary Editing And Filming
I’m also in the final stages of another documentary that will also hopefully be released in 2024. It’s titled The Lights Went Out In Vegas, and it’s about Las Vegas entertainer’s experiences through the lockdowns of 2020/21.
I have also completed a number of documentary style legacy videos of over three hours. The following production included 30 interviews that I filmed and edited.. Here are a few of the edited scenes:
In 2021, Mitch created a small production for a man who fell in love with a young boy who suffered from brain cancer at the age of one. The first 13 minutes were based on planned questions that then created a beautiful story of the unlikely similarities between the two characters. It’s truly heartwarming, and provides an excellent sample of my storytelling abilities. Although I had planned to edit much of the remaining footage to shorten the production, It was decided to leave all it in providing a lasting memory for the man that hired me to film it. He deserved it for his unbelievable kindness:

My filming and editing skills were honed with a very difficult green screen project that included all aspects of filmmaking. Although we never had the budget we needed, I’m still very proud of the work and was very grateful for the opportunity! Here is the trailer:

More about Mitch – My editing style is to create perfect timing to music whenever possible, creating a rhythm that flows seamlessly from clip to clip. I believe in shooting tight close-ups and camera movements to add emotion to videos. I am also experienced in sound editing and scoring. I’ve studied hundreds of films and videos, and understand the art of storytelling. I believe I can add some fresh creative ideas to your projects.
I have taught myself DaVinci Resolve (used in many motion pictures) and am proficient in advanced coloring techniques to achieve the film look. Some of these techniques include:
- skin softening
- dodge and burn
- vignetting to highlight subjects set in distracting backgrounds
- cross processing like teal and orange grades
- proper skin exposure and color
- noise reduction – combined with Neat video to create finished clips without a “plastic” feel
- tracking and grading specific areas
- use of film LUTS
I am a believer that excellent color grading and correction is what instantly says, “That’s professional.”
Although I can grade standard color profiles, I enjoy working with flat or log profiles. The color information retained leads to superior results.
We realize that budget must be considered if doing advanced color grading. At minimum, correcting raw footage can be utilized to match clips, create moods, and transform video that looks digital to video that looks cinematic. More advanced grading methods can be utilized if customers are willing to pay for it. Professional grading is only possible when dealing with properly exposed images, but we are adept at fixing mistakes with professional results.
I am a dependable and professional camera operator available for your projects in Las Vegas, and am open to discuss any destination shoots. I’m comfortable using various cameras, and always study manuals prior to shooting with other cameras if you have preferred cameras you use.
I shoot with a professional Sony camcorder with advanced 1080 10 bit 4:2:2 codecs (if desired) and 4k UHD. For specialty shots, I have a trusted Nikon DSLR for capturing shots with bokeh, etc.
Just having fun at Red Rock Canyon
